Vadstena has a wide range of restaurants and cafés. For those craving coffee, we recommend the relatively newly opened Bagarberget . Baked on site and really delicious is our experience. On the main street there is also the historic patisserie Gamla konditoriet . For coffee gourmets who want to experience good coffee and a nice atmosphere, we would like to recommend Rosteriet Vadstena . Their pleasant café is located outside Vadstena, at Ladugård 206, a bike ride away. In the summer , the Klosterhotellet café right by Lake Vättern is well worth a visit. Incidentally, it was Chief Physician Hjertstedt's residence during his hospital days and those who pay attention can see similarities with Dahlströmska's wood carvings around the doors.
Anyone who wants to discover a wonderful café in the Vadstena area should go to Väderstads Centralkonditori . Well worth a trip!
Our own favorite place when we go out to eat is also the one we usually recommend to guests who ask. It's called Restaurang Hörnet and is located within easy walking distance of Hotell Dahlströmska gården. Really good and creative with very good vegetarian options. The pleasant family atmosphere also helps.
Another very nice restaurant is Bakgatan . This is also a few minutes walk from the hotel and serves a small but very tasty menu.
As these restaurants are very popular, it is recommended to book a table in advance.
